Emraan and Mallika for MURDER 3

Looks like there is one 'saalon purani dushmani' which has come to an end. Emraan Hashmi and Mallika Sherawat who haven't worked with each other since 'Murder' seem to have decided to bury the cudgel.

Hashmi had decided to keep his distance from Mallika after she took several unflattering digs at the Bhatt camp. Now, the he bitterness between the two seems to have been ceased. They may not be doing a film together yet but given their current relationship, it won't be a surprise if they end up sharing screen space with each other soon.

"Emraan doesn't believe in carrying a grudge for long and though after 'Murder' he chose to stay away from Mallika, he is not allowing his current professional decisions to be affected by his personal likes or dislikes", said sources close to Emraan who will be next seen in 'Murder 2', a film that was originally meant for him and Mallika.

Politics of love

The failure of her last crossover film 'Hisss' notwithstanding, sultry actress Mallika Sherawat says her latest outing 'Politics of Love' will be a milestone in her career.

"Not many Indian actors get a chance to play the lead in a mainstream American movie. This was an intelligent script and too good an opportunity to pass," Mallika said.

The film, directed by William Dear, is romantic comedy between a Indian American Democrat played by Mallika and African American Republican supporter played by Brian White. It is inspired by the slew of publicly documented love stories that sprung up in the run-up to Barack Obama's presidential election.

The actress described her journey from a being small town girl to Bollywood and now Hollywood as "great". She said there was not much difference between the working styles of both film industries, "except the fact that Hollywood is lucky in terms of budget."

Visibly excited about the role, Amitabh Bachchan led the press conference in Delhi, on Sunday evening. “My character’s name is Viju and he is an ex-gangster, who comes back to the city to finish his ‘last job’.

He wears loud clothes and is arrogant, but at the same time he is also very relaxed and cool,” said the actor, who has also sung four numbers in the film, including Go Meera Go, which is a medley of songs from his popular films of the yesteryears, including Yaarana, Namak Halal and Silsila.

Directed by Puri Jagannadh, a prominent filmmaker in Telugu cinema, the movie promises to have all the ingredients of a Bollywood masala flick, from foot-tapping numbers to an action sequence inspired from movies down South. Bachchan, meanwhile, will be seen in his trademark image of the ‘angry young man’ of the ’70s and ’80s. “Puri told me he had stopped watching my films after Mard because he didn’t see any of the elements he had seen in my previous films. So through this film he has recaptured the elements that he loved to see me in,” said Bachchan.

Udhay chopra left acting after DHOOM 3

He may not qualify as one of the biggest superstars in the country, but all said and done, he did manage to cut out a niche for himself. We're talking about none other than Uday Chopra. The younger son of the legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra started his career with the superhit filmMohabbatein and though he didn't manage to strike gold with all his films at the Box Office, he delivered hits like Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai and blockbuster films Dhoom and Dhoom 2. The actor who is now all set to feature in Dhoom 3, however, has announced his retirement from acting.

Uday who is currently in Kansas tweeted earlier today, "Ok confession time...Dhoom 3 is my swan song...my last film...no I'm not giving up acting...quite the opposite, acting is giving up on me!" 

Uday will be seen in Dhoom 3 along with Aamir Khan and Abhishek Bachchan.
